HOW TO APPLY FOR OBAMACARE

Health Insurance can be a complex [thing] for many people to understand but applying for coverage under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) isn’t a difficult task at all.

There are four primary ways in which you can apply for coverage under Obamacare although each will offer the same result.

HealthCare.gov

The easiest way is to enroll online directly through the health insurance marketplace at this link. They have made the process very simple to follow. If you follow the directions on the screen, you should finish your application in no time.

Over the Phone

The second way you can apply for Obamacare is by placing a call to the health insurance marketplace at 1-800-318-2596. You can speak to a trained health insurance representative.  They will answer any of your questions and help guide you through the application process.

Meet in Person

If you would rather talk to someone face-to-face, you can find a trained counselor in your community.  This person can go over your options with you, give advice, and help you enroll in a plan that works best for you. To find a counselor in your area, visit this page and follow the on-screen instructions.

By Mail

Finally, if you prefer to do things the old-fashioned way, you can apply for Obamacare through the mail. You can download the application form from HealthCare.gov. Simply print out the form, fill in your information, and send it in! Note: the application for the 2018 enrollment period will not be available until the start of Open Enrollment, November 1st, 2017.

Whichever method you choose to apply for Obamacare with, it is important that you are covered in case the unexpected happens, so make sure you don’t miss the Open Enrollment period for 2018, November 1st, 2017 through January 31st, 2018.
